Top 10 Australian Law Firm (using NEC PABX)

This firm had received a number of “strange” phone calls which were believed to be phone hackers attempting to gain information about their phone systems by pretending to be phone engineers. Telecom Guard was immediately installed in tandem with a security audit which locked down their phone systems security without reducing functionality or causing user inconvenience.

The Telecom Guard ComView appliance monitors the PABX for toll fraud in real time. Every time a call terminates the PABX notifies ComView of the call details and ComView analyses the call, in conjunction with analysis of other recent calls. If a suspicious pattern is identified the Telecom Guard network operations centre is notified and an engineer assigned to investigate and prevent hacker access.

Major Australian Financial Institution (using Nortel and Avaya PABX’s)

This organisation required a method of managing PABX faults centrally 24 hrs x 7 days. Although most PABX’s continuously run self diagnostics, faults often only activate warning lights. If the PABX is not inspected the warning light remains un-noticed.

A ComView appliance was installed in every site in Australia and NZ to monitor the PABX and pass alarms immediately to the network operations centre for action. Secure remote access is also managed via the ComView.

Significant Telecommunications Carrier (using Nortel, Siemens and Alcatel PABX’s)

This overseas carrier has installed 1,900 ComView appliances for monitoring and reporting purposes. One per PABX.
