Who is Liable?
Between July 2004 and September 2005 three major Australian Telco's have written to their clients warning of the risk posed by telephone hacking and recommending to their clients to secure their systems because, to paraphrase the Telco's,
"The hacked organisation is liable!". Statistics show that the risk to
organisations increased throughout 2006.
Insurance
No Australian or NZ insurance policy that we are aware of covers losses from telephone hacking. |
